Start your July 4th celebration by participating in the First Annual 5k run / walk ~ with the proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society! This course (used as a training route for the cross country team) is not only a beautiful run/walk through the country but a challenging, course with an attitude! Unique in every way this experience is about more than a walk or run, it is an opportunity to bond together in support of the American Cancer Society. Well all agree that someone in our circle of life has been effected by cancermay have been a family member, a friend you may be a survivor. Our race day will start with registration, then a chance to sign a memorial wall with your signature or a special message in memory of a loved one. The 5k walk starts at 8:30 am and the runs starts at 9 am. The course has a brief .8 of a mile climb, which is followed by a rolling section that leads to a short climb finishing with a gradual 1-mile down hill finish. Count on door prizes galore, unique trophies for bracket winners and Corning Glass pieces for the overall fastest male and female. Includes a long sleeve tee for all participants.
